Albinos, Donations and Repairs

Albino Corydora
Ten Albino Corydoras (Albino Aeneus) were introduced to the RH Fish Tank on Monday! Albino Corys are omnivores (eat meat and vegetables) and feed at the bottom, occasionally swimming around and shooting up to the surface to get some fresh air.

We hope you like them!

Donations
A donations booth will be set up soon to collect donations for a flagging RH Fish Tank fund due to the filter change and cabinet repairs. Save up now to help the RH Fish Tank!

Update on Repairs
The damp wood panels have been left uncovered to allow for it to dry. However in order to speed up the drying process, we request for you to lend us a drying blower if you have one. It would greatly speed up the drying and facilitate an earlier patch-up.

It is 2006

If you happened to walk by the RH Fish Tank on Fryday or Saturday you would have noticed that major external tank works were ongoing, and repairs were effected for these main problems:
1) Filter was faulty
2) Cabinet was getting damp
3) Cabinet door hinges broken

Faulty Filter
The old filter was leaking a little and this caused the cabinet to soak up the leakage bit by bit. This would result in warping and instability of the whole cabinet if not corrected early, thus it was decided that the filter had to be replaced. KokTiong went to buy a new filter (Dymax canister filter suitable for 4-5ft tanks) yesterday and we set it up today.

Damp Cabinet
Having solved the leaking, we tore away the formica laminate at the back where the dampness was most severe, and turned the fan to force-dry the area. We'll have it patched back when the wood has completely dried.

Broken Door Hinges
Unscrewed the old/broken hinges and replaced them with new (shiny) hinges. The doors will be re-installed when the wood patch-up has been completed.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to all RHesidents, and we wish you a great semester ahead!
